Opening hours

Tuesday to Sunday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

1st Thursday of the month: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
(on public holidays 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.)

Closed on Mondays

The museum will be open regular hours on Carnival (2/24-27 and 3/1-22).

Christmas and New Year's Eve 2023: The house is closed on 24.12.,25.12., 31.12. and 1.1.


Tickets

Individual ticket, permanent exhibition: €7.00, reduced: €4.50
Group ticket (10 persons min.), permanent exhibition: €4.50 per person

“Combi-Ticket” Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum + Museum Schnütgen: €10.00, reduced: €7.00

Special reductions apply for people with a severe disability of 50% or more:

Individual ticket, permanent exhibition: €3.50
“Combi-Ticket” Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum + Museum Schnütgen: €5.00

The severely handicapped pass must be presented at the museum ticket offices in order to be granted reduced admission. 

Refugees and their companions have free admission. 


Photography

Photography for private purposes is permitted in the foyer and in the permanent exhibition, as long as no tripod or flash is used. For photo requests or when taking pictures for publications, please contact our administration: rjm@stadt-koeln.de

The museum is conveniently located in the centre of Cologne.

By public transport:
Next stop: “Neumarkt” (2 minutes walk)
Trams and buses N 1, 3, 4, 9, 16, 18, 136 and 146.

Parking facilities

Underground car park: Cäcilienstraße, directly under the museum, entrance via Cäcilienstraße

Museum rate (4 hours): €5 (information available at the ticket office)


Accessibility

The museum is suitable for wheelchair users.
The event hall is equipped with hearing loops.

For the hearing impaired (hearing aid and CI users), a loop for the audio guide is available.

Video guides are available for deaf and hard of hearing people, including children: films in sign language explain the topical trail, show you the highlights of the exhibition and explain the content in a child-friendly way. The devices can be borrowed free of charge at the information desk in the foyer. You can find more information here.
